COBA and Joe Young Studios Prepare for April 2026 “CAN DO” Workshop Series
Charter Oak Boxing Academy and Elite Tertiary Education Consulting are proud to announce an upcoming Save the Date for April 2026, as they once again partner with award winning creative leader Joe Young of Joe Young Studios and Productions to launch the third installment of the CAN DO series, designed exclusively for COBA students.
Following the success of the 2025 Winter and Fall cohorts, this new season will continue to build on a proven model that blends creativity, discipline, and career exploration. The April 2026 series will focus on modern best practices in animation, movie production, and media exploration, offering students hands on exposure to creative industries and real world storytelling techniques.
Event Details
This program has been specifically tailored for COBA and ETEC students and is limited to COBA participants only. Space is extremely limited. Students and parents who are interested are encouraged to contact Ms. Pam as soon as possible to reserve a slot.
The CAN DO series offers more than creative training. Participation may lead to summer employment opportunities for high school students. COBA will provide transportation to and from program sessions and a small stipend for all student participants. To remain eligible, students must attend COBA training at least twice per week in addition to participating in Joe Young’s program.
Joe Young is a renowned cartoonist, movie producer, and video director who is nationally recognized for using art as a tool for empowerment, literacy, and community connection. A Guinness World Record holder for creating the World’s Longest Comic Strip, Young has engaged thousands of youth across Greater Hartford through collaborative art and storytelling. His career includes collaborations with major artists such as Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.
Commitment to Youth
At the core of the program is the CAN DO spirit, a youth focused philosophy that builds self esteem, promotes positive decision making, and reinforces the belief that students can succeed regardless of circumstance. Through CAN DO series, students learn to write comic scripts, develop animated characters, and tell their own stories through visual media. Young also serves on the Boards of Directors for the University of Bridgeport and Goodwin University, where he continues to advocate for access to higher education and creative career pathways.
April 2026 marks another exciting chapter in COBA’s commitment to holistic youth development, where athletics, creativity, education, and opportunity come together.
