COBA and ETEC Welcome Firefighters and EMTs to Inspire Career Pathways in Public Safety — March 2026

Charter Oak Boxing Academy (COBA), in partnership with Elite Tertiary Education Consulting (ETEC), is proud to host a special career exploration event focused on careers in firefighting and emergency medical services. Taking place in March 2026, this event will give students a firsthand opportunity to learn directly from professionals serving on the front lines of public safety.

Firefighters and EMTs from the Manchester Fire Department, Hartford Fire Department, and New Britain Fire Department will join COBA students to share their experiences, career journeys, and insights into what it takes to serve the community in these critical roles. Date and time details will be announced soon.

Event Features

The event is designed to introduce students to real world career possibilities in firefighting and emergency medical services. Through direct interaction with first responders, students will gain a clearer understanding of training requirements, daily responsibilities, teamwork, and the commitment involved in protecting lives and communities.

COBA and ETEC believe that exposure is a powerful tool. While athletics help students develop discipline, confidence, and resilience, career focused programming ensures they can apply those skills to meaningful professional paths. Firefighting and EMT careers offer structure, purpose, stability, and opportunities for growth.

Commitment to Youth

Students will be encouraged to ask questions, explore pathways into public safety careers, and envision themselves in roles that make a tangible difference. This event reflects COBA and ETEC’s ongoing commitment to holistic youth development that includes education, workforce readiness, and civic engagement.

Students interested in attending are encouraged to respond through Band for updates and additional event details.
